About the position

The Lead Show TD is responsible for the team providing front-line, first-response support and tool development to facilitate the production process of our current projects. In addition to having strong technical and software development skills, the Lead Show TD is an excellent communicator, able to understand and communicate effectively with artists and CG supervisors to understand their needs and expectations. Working closely with the Head of Pipeline, the Lead Show TD must quickly provide effective solutions that enable Production members to be more productive while ensuring that these solutions are in harmony with the core pipeline.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the Show TD development team in charge of designing, supporting and improving the tools and workflows for the production chain of ongoing projects 
  • Provide technical advice and support to artists and department heads as well as CG supervisors 
  • Prioritize, define and organize the work of the developers in your team
  • Provide ingenious solutions to productivity problems
  • Promote a respectful work environment and a good team spirit

    Requirements

    • At least five (5) years experience in animation, visual effects or equivalent production environment 
    • A degree in computer science, 3D animation or equivalent professional experience 
    • Excellent knowledge of Python 
    • Good understanding and experience of the entire CG Pipeline DCCs such as Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Redshift/Renderman/Arnold 
    • Able to do R&D at a fast pace in these areas
    • Experience in C++, an asset 
    • Experience with Shotgun, Shotgun Toolkit an asset
    • Knowledge of agile development methodologies is an asset
