Job description

Your mandate

You are responsible for ensuring that the production schedule is followed and that all team members meet the deadlines. You are the central point of communication for a project and act as an intermediary between the Producer, VFX supervisor, CG supervisor, leads and artists. You are also responsible for the delivery to our clients. Depending on the size of the project, you will intervene on part of the project (assigned specialties) or on the whole project. Please note this is a 3 month contract. Hybrid, on site or remotely (in the province of Quebec).


Your main responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the lead, welcome artists on the project, inform him/her about its particularities, the schedule, tasks, etc...;

  • Under the Producer's instructions, plan and monitor the progress of the artists' work according to the needs of each project;

  • Create, distribute and assign tasks taking into account the resources allocated to his(her) project;

  • Enter the project structure in Shotgun as instructed by the VFX or CG supervisor;

  • Summarize and broadcast relevant information to all project stakeholders and ensure that it is well understood and applied;

  • Ensure that procedures are followed to make sure the "workflow" between departments is fluid;

  • Supervise the artists: make rounds, ensure that the deadlines for each task are respected, check and adjust their schedule daily; ensure that they have access to references and necessary equipment;

  • Plan and/or participate in any meetings concerning the progress of projects (dailies), take notes and pass them on to the artists in Shotgun;

  • Monitor the completion of tasks to ensure the projects’ progression;

  • Raise issues with the Producer, VFX and CG supervisor when they affect the planning of other departments or the delivery to the client;

  • Keep the progress of projects up to date ;

  • Ensure follow-up between departments ;

  • Ensure the good delivery of shots to the client ;

  • Optimize and monitor artists' time and inform the Producer in case of downtime.

You have

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in project management, feature-length animated films or television animation ;

  • A good knowledge of a pre-rendered production pipeline and the work is done by the different departments;

  • Good knowledge of Shotgrid;

  • Knowledge of a real-time production pipeline, an asset.
